What can I do when RStudio is not opening on Windows 11?

  • Restart your computer: Restarting your computer can fix temporary glitches or conflicts that might stop RStudio from opening.

1. Install R environment

After installing RStudio, you need to set up the R environment before launching it; otherwise, it won’t work. Also, make sure you have R version 3.0.1 or a newer version installed to ensure compatibility.

  6. After installing R, try launching RStudio again, and it should work properly now.

2. Reset RStudio’s state

  1. Open File Explorer, navigate to the following location, and then delete or rename the RStudio folder replacing Username with your actual username: C:\Users\Username\AppData\Roaming Delete RStudio
  2. After that, go to another location and delete or rename RStudio while replacing Username with your actual username: C:\Users\Username\AppData\Local Rename RStudio
  3. Then, restart your computer and check if the RStudio not opening issue is fixed.
